Bursa Inter-Varsity Stock Challenge is a 3-month stock trading competition designed to challenge university students to achieve a portfolio with good returns through trading and investing. This challenge gives students an opportunity to learn and understand stock market intricacies in a practical way. The simulated challenge will enable participants to trade virtually on Bursa Malaysia with real-time price feed.

The Objective

The objective of this trading challenge is to create investment and trading awareness among the university students to test their trading skills.

Using N2N Interactive Trader software, students get to learn how to trade stocks listed on Bursa Malaysia and how to quickly apply their knowledge of fundamentals in a fast-paced and simulated environment.

Who Can Participate?

Bursa Intervarsity Stock Challenge 2022 (BISC) is open to all participating university students.

A participating team must consist of one (solo) or up to a max of four (4) members from the same university. A team leader must be elected by each team for communication purposes.

What Do You Get?

Virtual Capital

A virtual capital of RM100,000 will be allocated to each team

Mentorship

Every university will be assigned a broker mentor who will guide you in trading and investing.

Experiential Learning

It’s a unique chance for students to learn hands-on techniques to trade on the stock market.

Investment Strategies

Learn to develop your own trading strategy.

Real Time Trading

Expose students to experience the excitement, energy, and decision-making environment of real-time trading.

Cash Prizes

Fortnight prizes will be credited into the trading accounts of the participants of top 3 teams every 2 weeks. Grand Prizes will be given out to the final top 3 winners.

How It Works?

BISC is divided by two phases:

Phase 1 : 3-months trading challenge

  • The contestants will compete to generate the highest returns.
  • The contestants can trade listed securities based on real-time price feed on the platform hosted on Bursa Academy and powered by N2N Connect.
  • The 3 best performing teams of each university will be selected by their mentoring broker to advance to Phase 2.

Phase 2 : Grand Finale

  • The finalist teams will present their investing principles and strategies to a panel of judges where their strategies are evaluated.

Timeline

Registrations for BISC has commenced and will close on 5th August 2022.

The trading platform is the Equities Trading Simulator, hosted on Bursa Academy and powered by N2N Connect.
Each university will be paired up with their sponsoring broker who will serve as a mentor
The cash prizes prizes will be deposited into the winners’ trading account with the respective sponsoring broker whom the winners are required to open a trading account with.

Selection of Winners
The judging criteria of the BISC is as follows:
  • 70% on profit made (based on Portfolio Value) during the 3-month challenge.
  • 30% on quality of investment principles and strategies presented during the Grand Finale.
