Gain a deeper understanding of kaki lima's role in the context of their contribution to our local economy, culture, history, and heritage.
About the Speakers :
Dr Camelia Kusumo is an Associate Professor and Director of the Liveable Urban Communities Impact Lab at Taylor’s University. Her expertise is mainly in sustainable urban design and architecture, nature-inspired architecture and urban heritage. Dr Camelia is the leader of the research group Affordable and Livable Asian Cities and a member of the Centre for Research and Innovation in Tourism at Taylor’s University (CRiT). She is also an editorial board member of the Journal of Advances in Civil Engineering and Sustainable Architecture and the Al-Quds Journal for Academic Research – Humanities and Social Sciences. Dr Camelia is the co-author of the book ‘Kaki Lima Stories’, with Lee Sze-ee.
Ar. Sze-ee Lee is an architect/lecturer based in Malaysia. She has more than 15 years of practical experience both locally and overseas in residential, commercial and institutional projects. Sze-ee believes that with thoughtful design and careful planning, quality architectural design brings a quality lifestyle to people. She is a Senior Lecturer at the School of Architecture, Building and Design (SABD), Taylor's University in Malaysia. Recently, she completed her PhD in evolving career paths for 21st-century architects. Sze-ee co-authors the book, 'Kaki Lima Stories' with Dr. Camelia.
